| Presentation | Thad Day asked Andy Walsh ( No. Yarmouth Economic Development Committee ) to speak about the meeting that night at NYMS at 7:00 pm, to provide the Town with input on the five “options” on the table for replacement, or not, of Westcustogo Grange Hall. There will be five displays at the meeting showing optional solutions to replace that space, and they want residents to weigh in. This could play a significant part in the “revitalization” of No. Yarmouth Town Center and our ability to attract more businesses here. The tax base would certainly be eased if we had more businesses locate here. These options are also on the Town website for review. Attendance is encouraged !! |
| Discussion | It was mentioned that school superintendent Hasson is indeed gone and filling the seat on an interim basis is Sally Laughlin.Thad Day presented the minutes from 9/19/13 meeting and they were voted as approved.Thad also pointed out January’s meeting will be our “special” annual meeting addressing election of new officers. Marilyn will send Oct, Nov, and Dec. minutes out to ALL email addresses to encourage more participation and attendance. In order to PROMOTE your business within NYBA attendance is an important part. Discussed “special meeting” date of January 9, 2014 to combine with our monthly social.
Hansel’s Orchard will be open two more weekends, their last open day being Oct. 27, 2013 — GO PICK APPLES !!! We discussed a second annual trade show and what venues might work for that, now that Westcustogo is gone. Mary will check with Skyline Farm, for any limitations, and Marilyn will call NYMS to check on availability there. March 7, 2014 is the scheduled date for the trade show. Committee to organize the trade show will be Leslie Taisey, Marilyn Matthews, and Mary Conroy. Next monthly social meeting is scheduled for Nov 14, 2013 5:30 pm at Toddy Brook Golf Club. Regular business meeting is Nov 21, 2013 7:00 am at same location. A final effort will be made to renew memberships for the few people who haven’t submitted dues yet. |
