| Presentation | Guest speaker and new member Mary Conroy of Odyssey Design has been in business in North Yarmouth for ten years. She specializes in graphic design, marketing, and project management. She assists clients in target marketing through newsletters, posters, signage, designing logos. She helps companies implement marketing plans, and coordinates print projects for clients. She explained the importance of clear, concise message delivery in advertising, with bold use of color, image, font, and size. She also advised that direct mail is still a strong option for driving clients to websites. Mary’s business has clients countrywide, including many higher education venues. Her goal is to grow her clientele to perhaps include local and regional government projects, as well as producing viewbooks for higher learning institutions. Welcome Mary to NYBA !! |
| Introductions | Each NYBA member attending introduced themselves and their business. We also welcomed new member Brian Bartlett from Edward Jones Investments, who offereds a complete menu of financial services. Brian will be our speaker at the June business meeting.Minutes of the April 12, 2012 meeting were approved. |
| Discussion | Further discussion of a presence at Skyline Farm events took place, as well as our intent to have an NYBA trade show. Similar, or tied to a Funday Event, members could have a table to advertize their businesses. Comment was made we could connect in some way to the Town meeting. Rob and Darla will look into this, and we plan to discuss further at the social on 5/17/12 at 5:00 pm. Each active member will remind others of the social, encouraging them to attend. |
| Reports | Treasurers Report shows our account balance at $991., to which the two membership fees totalling $50. will be added. |
