Minutes June 19, 2014

Attendance Rob & Leslie Taisey, Mary Conroy, Marilyn Matthews, Margie Hansel
Meeting called to order at 7:00 AM by Mary Conroy.
Presentation While we did not have a “guest” speaker at this meeting, Rob Taisey gave us some descriptive insight into the new solar installation on Cumberland Road (Rte 9).  The “Allsun” tracking installation is receiving much attention from the community.  By having the tracking system versus stationary panels, the homeowner is getting 45% more solar production from each of the 24 panels on the structure.  It is a unique installation to North Yarmouth.
Discussion Members commented on how interesting last month’s speaker Katie Murphy was. Her Univoice personal history work is fascinating and important.

Marilyn turned over the Trade Show data to Mary Conroy who will cross check attendees to our database.

It was encouraged that North Yarmouth residents should watch the video link on the Town website regarding the new Town Planning going on.  It was presented that over 300 people come to North Yarmouth each day TO WORK.

Marilyn will send out an email inquiry to members about doing another Notes Showcase for NYBA, to determine interest.  She will first call Mark at The Notes to get current rates and available dates.

It was agreed that for July and August there will be no NYBA 7:00 am business meetings on the third Thursday of those months, but we will continue to meet on the second Thursday for the socials, and review any needed business topics then.

Skyline Farm hosted a presentation by a local expert about the effect Coyotes have on our eco system, and the balance that is created by their presence.  Coyotes being at the top of the local predator chain, they keep smaller “pest” species in check so there is not so much demand for the same food and territory supply.

Reports Leslie Taisey lists account balance $925.21.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05 AM — Respectfully Submitted: Marilyn Matthews, Secretary
